CBS continues Financial Wellness Roadshow for Teachers

The CBS China Bank Savings Financial Wellness Roadshow for DepEd Teachers and staff is now in Cebu! The roadshow will be in Lapu-Lapu City (July 24), Mandaue City (July 25), and Cebu City (July 26), continuing the CBS initiative to empower educators with the tools they need to reach their financial goals.

The Cebu leg follows a successful Mindanao run earlier this month, with a turnout of 384 participants. One of the Mindanao run attendees, Ms. Rachel Pugoy, Assistant School Principal of Digos City National High School for Academics shared, “Personally, I am really very happy, learning about how to get empowered financially. (I have learned) about (the importance) of financial readiness, especially when it comes to our health. We should always be prepared for emergencies, and this should be the basis of (how we manage) our income.”

 

Ms. Marites Chan, School Principal I of Vicenta Nograles National High School added, “The program was (very) good. CBS (provided us with vital) information–(our teachers) learned that they (need) to (learn how to) balance their (cash flow). They need to (manage) their needs and wants (better), as well as their financial expenses.”

 

First Vice President II Niel Jumawan


CBS China Bank Savings Automatic Payroll Deduction Lending Group Head and First Vice President II Niel Jumawan will again lead his team, spreading the word on Financial Wellness with an expected 500 participants in the Cebu area. The program will consist of refresher courses focusing on proper financial planning, debt management, personal statement of assets and liabilities analysis, and effective saving strategies.


“We recognize the critical role that teachers play in our community, as well as in shaping our students’ lives. Our goal is to make sure that they are equipped with the resources, knowledge, and skills to make better choices, plan ahead, and ultimately, achieve financial independence,” said Mr. Jumawan. “We are sincerely grateful for this partnership with the Department of Education as this provides a platform for CBS to reach out to our esteemed educators nationwide.”
