Cebu Chamber, DOST conducts food packaging, labeling workshop

Recognizing the importance of the right packaging and labeling of food products, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recently conducted a workshop at the Cebu Chamber Centre.

Eighteen participants from 10 companies in food manufacturing attended the two-day comprehensive training on food packaging and labeling.

 

 

The training covered various essential topics, including an in-depth discussion on different packaging materials, the pivotal role of packaging in the food manufacturing industry, proper handling, storage, and responsible disposal of packaging materials.

 

The workshop identified regulatory compliance as a key focal point even as the participants learned the intricacies of packaging and labeling in the food industry. Regulatory compliance ensures that food products meet the highest safety standards. This also helps build trust and loyalty among customers.

 

 

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in in-depth discussions and hands-on activities.

 

 

They acquired  a comprehensive understanding of various packaging materials and their suitability for different food products.

 

Emphasizing sustainability, the training focused on proper handling, storage, and responsible disposal of packaging materials to minimize environmental impact.

 

 

With the expert guidance of renowned trainer, Dr. Jose Elli, attendees were immersed in a journey of exploration, uncovering the essential elements necessary for success in the dynamic world of packaging.
